EOTC and Effective Safety Management Systems

EOTC and Effective Safety Management Systems

Implement the Ministry of Education guidelines, and good practices for safety and learning. This professional learning workshop supports schools in embedding good practices for EOTC activities, ensuring safe, engaging, and effective outdoor learning for all students. The free two-day workshop, supported by the Ministry of Education, is designed for schools at various stages of implementing EOTC safety systems.

Who is this PLD for:

  • Schools new to the EOTC Guidelines.
  • Schools onboarding new staff or reviewing safety processes.
  • Schools seeking to align with best practices for safety and quality in EOTC.

The workshop is most beneficial when attended by at least two representatives from a school, including a senior leader, EOTC coordinator, or lead teacher. Participation from a school board member is also encouraged.

Whether you're refining existing processes or establishing new systems, this workshop equips educators with the tools and knowledge to integrate EOTC into school-wide safety and teaching strategies effectively.

What is Covered in this PLD:

  • Key concepts for safe and quality teaching in EOTC.
  • Training in leading school-wide changes aligned with good practice.
  • Strengthening safety and learning systems across EOTC contexts.
  • Guidance on implementing the Ministry of Education’s EOTC Guidelines.

A proportion of these PLD's are funded by the MOE and are free to all schools. However if we have requests to run additional events, these are not funded and will be at a cost to participant schools.

Please note if your school wishes to book multiple people onto an event, each individual wanting to attend will need to acquire their own login and book themselves in. Our system does not allow for multiple bookings under one login.
