This workshop provides educators with essential skills and knowledge to confidently manage risk in Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) settings. Through real-life case studies, interactive discussions, and expert guidance, participants will gain practical tools to create safer, more effective EOTC experience.

who is this PLD for:

This is the first time we are running this programme, and as such, we are offering this pilot workshop free of charge. In return, we ask participants to provide feedback and suggestions to help refine and improve future sessions.

This workshop has been developed for teachers, school leaders, and EOTC coordinators who want to build their confidence in risk management and provide safe EOTC experiences. Anyone who is involved in assessing and managing risk, and those that are responsible for ensuring that risk assessment is completed to the highest standard will find this workshop beneficial. 

 

What is covered in this workshop:

By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of risk assessment processes, from preplanning to real-time decision-making.

  • Learn good practices for dynamic risk management and student supervision structures.

  • Understand the critical role of staff competency, environmental factors, and contingency planning.

  • Gain practical tools for planning and implementation.

  • Learn how to build a culture of safety through communication, emergency preparedness, and incident analysis.

Yes, schools can register more than one participant if space allows. If possible it is ideal to have more than one person there so that you can work together to implement the ideas back in your school.
