Attention secondary schools. We need your help.
This is an important notice for all schools that run SENIOR-LEVEL OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
Outdoor Education has a voice in the National Review of Achievement Standards (RAS) and Education Outdoors NZ (EONZ) is the association representing outdoor education on the national working party for the RAS.
Completion of a short survey by as many schools who offer senior-level Outdoor Education as possible will provide us valuable information as to the composition of current programmes. The survey also asks you to contribute to a rationale as to why you use those standards.
The more schools that participate, the stronger our voice can be to advocate for and to inform the development of quality Outdoor Education in line with the NCEA Change Package. It is critical that we are able to articulate the number of schools engaging in NCEA-level outdoor education and be able to talk about the value our programmes bring to student learning.
Please discuss with your staff before completing to ensure only one survey per school is completed. Also, circulate and discuss with colleagues in other schools – we are looking to get a really good response.
Your support is very much appreciated.
The survey will remain open until Friday 30 August and all schools who participate will be provided with a precis once completed.
